The Fearless Girl statue, which has faced off the famous Charging Bull in New York City's financial district for more than a year, will be relocating to a spot in front of the New York Stock Exchange, officials said.
"We eagerly await the arrival of "Fearless Girl" to her fitting new home, standing her ground and training her unblinking eyes on our engine of progress and free enterprise", said NYSE President Thomas Farley.
The diminutive four-foot-tall monument created by sculptor Kristen Visbal was first planted in front of the Bull on International Women's Day a year ago by USA financial firm State Street Global Advisors to call out corporate America's gender gap, and to encourage more companies to include women on their boards.
And the sculptor of Charging Bull was affronted by the addition of the new statue, saying it changed the meaning of his original - making the bull not a symbol of strength, but an ominous villain.
"Our hope is that by moving closer to the NYSE she will inspire more companies to take action", Cyrus Taraporevala, State Street's president and CEO, told CNN.

ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit leery of Josh Allen's small-school pedigree
Kamara was drafted in the third round previous year as was Chiefs' rookie back Kareem Hunt, who ran for 1,327 yards. Nor did time allow Herbstreit to discuss quarterbacks who seemingly will be drafted between rounds two and seven.
The decision to move the statues is not part of de Blasio's commission on monuments, which met several times and, after recommending that the statue of 19th-century surgeon who conducted experimental operations on female slaves be moved from Central Park, disbanded.
Others were troubled by the origins of "Fearless Girl", arguing that the statue's feminist message was little more than an attempt by State Street Global Advisors to cover up a spotty record on pay equity. State Street said Thursday that since the placement of the statue, more than 150 companies have added a female director to their boards. Its sculptor, Kristen Visbal, is happy to see it remain a Manhattan fixture.
"I put it there for art", Di Modica previously said.
"We are proud to be home to the Fearless Girl".
To protest, one artist places his own "Pissing Pug" sculpture of a urinating dog by the "Fearless Girl" statue's feet.
Besides, "Fearless Girl", he said, wasn't a honest feminist call to action so much as it was an "advertising trick".
