Among the many, many movies we're excited to see in 2018 is Marvel's Venom, starring Tom Hardy and Michelle Williams. If it didn't have Venom credits at the end, I'm not sure many people would have even known it was a Venom movie. We've been told that it's disconnected from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but in the comics, Venom comes from Spider-Man. The first Venom trailer has arrived to give us a look at Tom Hardy's take on the iconic character.
Sony Pictures premiered the trailer for Venom, which reveals our first look at the eponymous symbiote - sort of.
The trailer begins with Tom Hardy narrating the story.

For those of you who aren't comic book fans: Venom is a human being in an alien "symbiote" costume who first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #299. Now they have released the first teaser trailer for VENOM, a spin-off about a villain who made good. Eddie Brock (Hardy) is being researched by doctors/scientists to try to figure out what's wrong with him.
Featuring Academy Award winning actor Tom Hardy, the almost two minute clip doesn't reveal much - but it definitely works to build excitement for the coming movie. In Spider-Man 3, the Brock/Venom was played by Topher Grace and Sony had been plans of developing a Venom stand alone film during that time, but it was eventually shelved. I would just like to actually see Venom in a trailer for Venom.
"Venom" - with "Zombieland" director Ruben Fleischer at the helm - hits screens October 5.
