Thousands of wreaths will be laid on the graves of veterans' across the country today including here in West Michigan, all part of Wreaths Across America.
"He was always very proud of his service", Pollock said.
After the ceremonial wreaths were all hung, Faxon asked attendees to take a wreath from a prepared stack and place them on the graves of the veterans buried on the home's campus.
"I have two military (service members) in my family and my father's a veteran", she said. "They helped earn our freedom and it's one way to honor what they did for us", said Flathead Composite Squadron Deputy Cadet Commander Matt Brockman.
Organizers purchase the wreaths thanks to donations from sponsors and the public.
