Iranian Foreign ministry spokesman, Bahram Qassemi, reacted to anti-Iran remarks of French President who was visiting Persian Gulf states of UAE and KSA.
"Meanwhile, France is fully aware of Iran's firm stance towards its defense capabilities, viewing it as non-negotiable", Foreign Ministry's official website quoted him as saying. He added, though, that France was committed to the landmark nuclear deal with Iran, which puts restrictions on Iran's nuclear activities in exchange for sanctions relief.
Tehran expects Paris to remain "realistic, fair and farsighted" when it comes to the sensitive developments in the Middle East and the Persian Gulf regions, Qassemi underlined. Earlier, Saudi Arabia accused Iran of "a clear act of aggression that targets neighboring countries, and threatens peace and security in the region and globally".
