Bannon, back at his old role as the head of conservative news site Breitbart, has reportedly advised the president to shake up his legal team and do all he can to pressure Congress to defund Mueller's investigation, sources told Vanity Fair.
Presidential son-in-law and White House advisor Jared Kushner has recently supplied special counsel Robert Mueller with documents his investigators seek in their probe of Russian election meddling. Investigators are reportedly zeroing in on his role in the firing of Federal Bureau of Investigation director James Comey, the CNN reported.
Special counsel Robert Mueller announced the 12 charges against the two, the first against any close former Trump aides stemming from a federal probe into possible collusion in Russia's effort to tilt the United States presidential election in Trump's favor.
"Here's what Manafort's indictment tells me: Mueller is going to go over every financial dealing of Jared Kushner and the Trump Organization", said former Trump campaign aide Sam Nunberg.
Questions about Kushner "signal that Mueller's investigators are reaching the president's inner circle and have extended beyond the 2016 campaign to actions taken at the White House by high-level officials", says CNN, which cites unnamed sources.

Dodging the question, she replied: "I'm telling you he was a volunteer member of an advisory council that literally met one time". Another one of CNN's fact checks sought to clarify what George Papadopoulos's role was on Trump's presidential campaign.
Philadelphia 76ers: Markelle Fultz out indefinitely
This injury would mark the third straight year, a highly drafted 76er player would miss significant time on the court. This latest news comes after the 76ers revealed Fultz would sit out three games as he dealt with shoulder soreness.
The news comes after a dramatic week in which Trump's former campaign chair Paul Manafort, and Manfort's business partner Rick Gates, were indicted on 12 counts including money laundering. The president is "annoyed" by the omnipresent Russian Federation fever, the adviser said, but he is comfortable with the strategy adopted by Ty Cobb, a senior White House lawyer, who has insisted on cooperating with Mr. Mueller without attacking him, in hopes of a speedy resolution.
Specifically, he questioned his role in the firings of Michael Flynn and James Comey, sources told "Vanity Fair".
The White House did not respond to Vanity Fair's request for comment.
As it turns out, the couple aren't well liked in Washington D.C., according to a Vanity Fair report from August that illuminated the extent to which people in their adopted hometown and in the White House view them as a feared and vindictive duo who are essentially powerless but who clueless about that reality. Lacking any real options, Trump has placed much of the blame on son-in-law Jared Kushner. The 2016 Trump Tower meeting, in addition to sessions with Russia's ambassador and a Russian banker, were left off Kushner's security clearance forms, which had to be revised multiple times.
