Roy Price resigned from Amazon Studios on Tuesday amid sexual harassment claims.
Speaking about his resignation, she said in a statement: "An important conversation has begun about the need to create a culture in our industry which values respect and decency and rejects the abuse of power and dehumanising treatment of others".
The incidents took place in a cab and at a company party in San Diego following an appearance at a comic-con two years ago. The actors and Russell said they agreed with Amazon Studios to stop work on the untitled series that was being produced by The Weinstein Co. The findings haven't been disclosed.
Weinstein has denied having non-consensual sex with anyone.
