Hundreds of so-called Islamic State (ISIS) fighters and their families were bused from a pocket of territory on the Lebanese-Syrian border into militant-held eastern Syria on Monday, Reuters reported.
Hundreds of jihadists started leaving the area on Monday, heading by bus for Syria's eastern province of Deir Ezzor, which borders Iraq and is the only Syrian province still under I.S. control.
The coalition said it did not strike the Daesh convoy but severely damaged the road it was using while also confirming that it hit "individual vehicles and fighters" that had been identified as Daesh.
Hariri's camp has been opposed to Hezbollah's intervention of Syria, where the militant group is fighting alongside government troops in the ongoing civil war.
The militants and their families headed in buses toward a town held by the Islamic State group in far eastern Syria, near the border with Iraq, effectively ending the presence of Sunni militant groups on the Lebanon-Syria border after al-Qaida-linked fighters were evacuated earlier this month.
He added that any strike will be in accordance with "the law of armed conflict and if we are able to do so and can discriminate and discern the difference between fighters and civilians".
"The coalition, we are not party to this agreement between Lebanon, Hezbollah and ISIS", he said.
The group, which has been classified as a terrorist by the United States since it was founded following Israeli occupation of Lebanon in the 1980s, has grown in prominence following its victory in 2006 war with Israel.
