Revealed at Gamescom by Square Enix, the Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition "retells the story" of the original game over ten downloadable episodes, with all episodes launching simultaneously and, as a bonus, the first episode will be free of charge. The gameplay has been reworked into some easy to use touch controls, and the new artstyle is traying to appeal the wider audience of mobile games.
But Final Fantasy 15 may be headed to another mobile platform soon.

The first of these will be available for free, with the others costing a fee. In a clip if the live stream, you can see that the team went as far as saying it's coming without actually saying it. What we don't know is the steps the developers would have to take to get the game running at an acceptable level on Nintendo's hardware. Given that Switch has been very successful and third-party devs are bringing their titles to the hybrid console, we would not be surprised if Final Fantasy XV comes to Switch.
Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition contains all of the main characters and main story of the console and PC versions, with the freedom to play whenever and wherever you want. Nothing has been announced as of yet so this is all just speculation at this point.
