Iceland midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson is due to complete a £45 million (US$58m, 49.4m euros, RM249) move to Everton from Premier League rivals Swansea later on Wednesday if he passes a medical, British media reported.
The Iceland worldwide is expected on Merseyside on Tuesday evening and will undergo a medical on Wednesday.
But Everton are finally set to secure their number one summer target at a price slightly lower than Swansea had wanted - taking their summer spending to over £140m.
The former Tottenham player missed Swansea's pre-season tour of the United States while the talks dragged on.
The Toffees have been interested in Sigurdsson all summer, and along with Leicester, were knocked back with an offer of £40m.

Everton were keen to tie up the swoop before the transfer window closes at the end of August and it is believed Swansea have at last agreed to sell their prize asset.
Sigurdsson, who was left out of Swansea's squad for Saturday's match at Southampton, is expected to be available for Everton's clash with Manchester City on Monday.
"The objective and the aim is that at some point the two clubs will meet", Clement said ahead of the goalless draw at Southampton.
Sigurdsson was crucial in Swansea's survival last season, having scored nine goals and assisted another 13, as well as covering the most distance of any player in the Premier League.
Swansea have made the signing of Wilfried Bony from Manchester City a priority.
