Samsung on Monday officially announced the Galaxy S8 Active, a more rugged version of its flagship Galaxy S8 smartphone. The company's "Active" line of handsets uses "military-grade materials for the utmost durability", protecting it from "shock, abrasion, tilting, or twisting".
The firm will be hoping that the new device will help to restore consumer confidence in their products. Apart from the rugged design, the device also packs a bigger 4,000mAh non-removable battery. For better or worse, Samsung's Bixby digital assistant and its dedicated hardware button are included. As expected, the Galaxy S8 Active features a 5.8 inch shatter resistant Quad HD Super AMOLED display. The display also comes with a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the top.
