The Daily Beast reports the $20 million dollar deal could be about Kanye's deal with Tidal, Jay-Z's music streaming company that Kanye West was reportedly distancing himself from following the release of The Life of Pablo. West is reportedly set to sue Tidal should the company sue him.
After dealing with Tidal, West is vowing to never get into an exclusive streaming deal again, TMZ reports. After two weeks of back-and-forth between Tidal and West's team, no agreement has been reached, resulting in the termination of the contract between the two.
West's decision to leave Tidal had been made before the release of Jay Z's "4:44" album in which he appeared to diss the rapper.
But, Tidal apparently feels that Kanye didn't hold up his end of the bargain because he didn't cough up the music videos that he was contractually required to deliver.
West's lawyer allegedly "sent a letter to Tidal, saying the company was in breach and the contract was terminated".
