United States Attorney-General Jeff Sessions told Congress that he would testify before the Senate Intelligence Committee tomorrow about issues related to alleged Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election.
Ousted FBI Director James Comey's testimony last week heavily implicated Session in multiple matters related to the Russian Federation investigation and called into question how thorough his recusal has been from matters relating to the 2016 presidential campaign.
In a letter, Mr Sessions said: "In light of reports regarding Mr Comey's recent testimony before the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, it is important that I have an opportunity to address these matters in the appropriate forum".
But Trump's denunciations of Comey have only fueled demands that the president - who has denied asking for loyalty or urging that the investigation be shelved - give his account under oath. Schumer said. "Third, he says he was involved in the firing of Comey, and the president said Comey was sacked because of Russian Federation".
Reed spoke on "Fox News Sunday".
"These are dark times if the attorney general of the United States is unwilling to answer questions under oath in an open session about his conduct or defend this administration's budget", Schatz said in a statement.
"I don't know whether it will happen - don't know whether it's going to be public", Sen.
In a closed session afterward, Comey said the Federal Bureau of Investigation had received unconfirmed reports that Sessions might have had a third meeting with Ambassador Sergey Kisylak during a reception for then-candidate Donald Trump at Washington's Mayflower Hotel. And the same committee asked Comey for his memos about conversations with Mr. Trump. Comey said he couldn't discuss it publicly.

What's the big deal about Wonder Woman?
The creator of Wonder Woman based it off his wife, who said wearing a skirt and fighting crime just didn't make sense. The movie was like nearly every other super hero movie with dramatic CGI explosions and a typical predictable script.
"That's a question for the committee", said Justice Department spokeswoman Sarah Isgur Flores. "Totally illegal? Very 'cowardly!'" But he may face sharper questioning from the Intelligence Committee, which has had access to intelligence materials in its inquiry into the Russian meddling.
After his dismissal, Comey leaked shocking details of a series of meetings with Trump, in which the president allegedly asked for Comey's "loyalty" and suggested that he shelve an FBI investigation into Trump's national security adviser.
-Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer of NY said he would take Trump up on his offer to testify under oath about his conversations with Comey, inviting the president to testify before the Senate.
A Republican senator is taking President Donald Trump to task for not clearing up a burning question: whether he has tape recordings of his conversations with his then-FBI Director James Comey.
"I don't understand why the president just doesn't clear this matter up once and for all", said Sen.
Sessions recused himself from overseeing the federal Russia probe three months ago after The Washington Post reported on a pair of undisclosed meetings Sessions had during the campaign with Sergey Kislyak, the Russian ambassador to the US.
Sessions has been dogged by questions about possible additional encounters with the ambassador.
