Following Trump's election, Flynn and Kislyak heightened the pace of their communications.
On Jan. 26, former acting Attorney General Sally Yates warned White House Counsel Donald McGahn that Flynn had not been forthcoming to the White House about his contacts with Kislyak.
The people who described the contacts said they had seen no evidence of wrongdoing or collusion between the campaign and Russian Federation in the communications reviewed so far.
The previously undisclosed interactions form part of the record now being reviewed by Federal Bureau of Investigation and congressional investigators.
