According to VentureBeat, the Moto Z2 Play will be shipping with a 3,000mAh battery, down from the original's 3,510mAh. The first generation Moto Z was well known for its slim profile and exceptionally good battery life. The RAM capacity has been increased to 4GB from 3GB in its predecessor.
The first Moto Z Play was heavily promoted as a workhorse which could last for up to 50 hours thanks to its sizable 3510mAh battery. The device will also likely include an upgraded Qualcomm Snapdragon 626.
We'll have to wait until an official announcement to make sure these specs pan out, but if accurate the Moto Z2 Play is looking like a mix of compromises and improvements over the original. Stay tuned with us to know more.
The Android 7.1.1 Nougat-powered Moto Z2 Play will therefore be 6mm thick and weigh 145g.
