Fox payroll employees Tichaona Brown and Tabrese Wright claimed that Judith Slater, the former senior vice president of accounting and comptroller, ridiculed and mocked them based on their race on several occasions, according to the lawsuit filed in NY state court in the Bronx on Tuesday. "Brown and Ms. Wright sued in court and even before Ms. Wright complained through her lawyer", a Fox News spokesperson said. "Brown and Ms. Wright dared to speak out about the intolerable work environment, including their unequal pay and opportunities for advancement and development as compared to similarly-situated white employees", the lawsuit charged.
"There is no place for inappropriate verbal remarks like this at Fox News", the company statement added. The woman also said that Slater would talk about how Black people spoke in which they would mispronounce words like "mother", "father", "mother".
In the lawsuit, the women said Slater had also made derogatory remarks about people of Chinese, Indian and Mexican descent. Their lawsuit accuses Slater of frequently making racist remarks, such as calling black men "women beaters" and implying that "black people wanted to physically harm white people". They also claim "top-down racial harassment" that executives including former CEO Roger Ailes and current co-presidents Bill Shine and Jack Anernathy "allowed this repugnant racial discrimination to go unchecked". "We are disappointed that this needless litigation has been filed".
Fox News has been involved in several high-profile lawsuits of late.

Summary: Conservative news behemoth, Fox News, is being sued for ignoring an allegedly hostile workplace towards African-Americans. The company said it fired Slater on February 28 after learning about her actions.
In the plaintiffs' court filing, Brown claims that she was sacked from the company for bringing the lawsuit. In response to the lawsuit, Fox News issued a statement to the New York Times. The Wrap was the first to report the firing last week, which occurred following an internal investigation into allegations Slater engaged in a pattern of racist behavior. Wright claims that she was demoted on Monday, and Brown says she was sacked that same day.
Wright has been demoted, according to the suit. They are reportedly seeking unspecified damages.
The women later refused Fox News's offer for their settlement.
