The US, which is one of Israel's key allies, also criticised the report.
"We expected of course that Israel and its allies would put huge pressure on the secretary general of the United Nations so that he would disavow the report, and that they would ask him to withdraw it", she added.
Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said in a televised speech on Saturday that the incident served as a reminder of the "truth of this organization, that it's weak. and it succumbs to the will of the United States and Israel".

Khalaf told a press conference in Beirut on last Friday that she had resigned as a result of lobbying by UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, to withdraw a report from the ESCWA website upsetting United States of America and its ally, Israel.
